Miss Trigger (F2)

Welcome back F2T! We hope you had a lovely Easter break. We are excited to have you back and hear the lovely stories you have to share!

“I wish everyone knew how special Earth is. Do you think if people if people realised, they would want to look after the Earth and keep it safe too?”

(Dear Earth, written by Isabel Otter)

Our topic this term is ‘Animals’. In this topic, we will learn about the world around us both under the sea and on land.

Throughout this topic, we will be learning about the animals and people that live here on planet Earth. Each week, our learning will be centred around a different fiction or non-fiction book.

The first stories in our Under the Sea learning journey are, “Dear Earth”, “What Pet Should I Get?” and “Nature Trail”.

We will use these stories to help us discuss and recognise features of fiction and non-fiction texts and learn how to retrieve information from these books. We will have lots of fun practically exploring these stories as well as creating our own non-fiction book.

Please take a look at our Summer Term Curriculum Map to see what we will be covering throughout the term.

Important Information:

· Our PE day is Tuesday.

· Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due the following Thursday.

Remember - reading 5 times a week and recording it in your child's reading record, completing set homework each week, attending in the correct P.E kit, and having an attendance of 96% or above will enter your child into our weekly 'in it to win it'

Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter @CastleHillsScaw for regular updates on what is happening in and around school.

We have an open-door policy. If you wish to speak to us about anything, then please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled term!
