Miss McGinty (Y3/4)

Welcome back 3/4 Mc!!!

I hope you have had an egg-mazing Easter

I am looking forward to our upcoming magical adventure with our class book “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” by J.K. Rowling. Where we will be looking at writing a newspaper article and our very own story!!

“Turning the envelope over, his hand trembling, Harry saw a purple wax seal bearing a coat of arms; a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake surrounding a large letter ‘H’”.

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry’s eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

How can I help my child at home?

Your child needs to be reading at least 5 times a week (I have prizes!)

Make sure your child is completing their written spelling and online Times Tables Rockstars homework (20 minutes at least - I have prizes for this too!)

Children in Year 4 should start to complete as much extra times tables practice in preparation for their MTC THIS YEAR! (We are going to ace it!)

I have set an optional Research Project for those children who have a high thirst for knowledge! Please let me know if your child needs further support with this venture.

.                                                                     *Remember*

To complete your homework, read five times every week, arrive in the correct PE kit and have an attendance of 96% or above to be our ‘In It To Win It’!

Our P.E. day will be on a Friday. We will be learning how to play tennis.  Please make sure to come to school in your PE kit. Where possible, we will be moving our PE lessons outside, so please make sure you wear your outdoor kit!
